I am Omar, a Senior Product Designer

with 6+ years designing native mobile and web experiences across financial services and healthcare.

My work lives where strategy meets craft. I've spent most of my career making genuinely complex products feel simple: group retirement enrollments, AI-powered chatbots, prescription renewal flows, and travel agent portals. The through line is always the same — understand the person, simplify the path, measure what changes.

I work closely with product and engineering from discovery through delivery. That means research, Figma prototypes, component documentation, and usability testing, but also being the person in the room who connects design decisions back to business outcomes.

I care a lot about accessibility, AI-assisted experiences, and teams that take research seriously. I've led cross-functional squads of 20+, shipped on time at a 98% rate, and I still obsess over the small stuff.

2015 – 2019

Foundations in Inclusive & Digital Design

Started at the intersection of brand, accessibility, and digital product work. Designed an inclusive mobile app for the Qatar Center for the Blind, then led e-commerce redesign at The DMZ at Ryerson, boosting conversion and retention.

2020 – 2022

Healthcare UX & Interactive Design

Designed a home hemodialysis mobile app for St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, making self-administration 80% easier for patients. Then moved into interactive design at Convergent, building visual systems and digital experiences for retail.

2022 – 2025

FinTech at Scale — Sun Life Financial

Led end-to-end design of mobile and web products used by hundreds of thousands of members. Drove 51% conversion growth, exceeded $100M in quarterly sales, and shipped an AI chatbot that cut response time from 12 hours to minutes.

2025

Healthcare & Travel — Klick & Air Canada

Designed a patient-centric prescription renewal experience across mobile and web at Klick, then contributed to a full UX redesign of Air Canada's Travel Agents Portal, modernizing an outdated platform used by thousands of agents.
